Here’s the Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon:
- ½ lb. beef stew meat, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ cup chopped onion
- ½ cup sliced carrots
- ½ cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ bottle (375 ml) dry red wine
- 1 tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 bay leaf
- ½ tsp. dried thyme
- Salt and pepper
- Egg noodles or mashed potatoes, for serving
- In a large skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides.
- Transfer the beef to your slow cooker and add the onion, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, red wine, tomato paste, bay leaf, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Stir everything together and cook on low for 8 hours.
- Serve over egg noodles or mashed potatoes.
- ½ lb. boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ cup canned diced tomatoes
- ½ cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- ½ tsp. paprika
- ½ tsp. turmeric
- ¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper
- ½ cup heavy cream
- Basmati rice, for serving
- In your slow cooker, combine the chicken, diced tomatoes, onion, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Stir everything together and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Stir in the heavy cream and cook for another 10-15 minutes, until heated through.
- Serve over basmati rice.
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- ½ cup heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
- Strawberries, sliced bananas, and cubes of pound cake, for dipping
- In your slow cooker, combine the chocolate chips, heavy cream, and salt.
- Stir everything together and cook on low for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Transfer the fondue to a serving dish and serve with strawberries, sliced bananas, and cubes of pound cake for dipping.
