This Slow Cooker Salsa Verde Chicken is a tasty and simple dish for the whole family. The chicken is cooked in a tasty salsa verde sauce and is ideal for tacos, burritos, salads, or on its own.

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (15-ounce) can of salsa verde
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. (you can brown them in a skillet for a few minutes before if you like)
  2. Pour the salsa verde over the chicken.
  3. Add the onion, green bell pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Shred the chicken with two forks. (the way you like it)
  6. Serve with your favorite toppings, such as tortillas, rice, or beans, corriander or parsley.
If you are in a hurry, cook the chicken on high for 3-4 hours rather than 6-8 hours on  low.
If you want to make the chicken, you can cook it, shred it, and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. When ready to serve, simply reheat the chicken and serve it with your favorite toppings.
