The Easiest Mashed Potatoes Recipe Cont.
Once potatoes are done, put butter in a saucepan at low heat until melt
We’re adding more milk. Stir the remaining 2 cups milk, or a mixture of milk and cream, into the melted butter and warm gently over low heat.
Time to mash your potatoes:
If you used garlic but don’t want the potatoes taste garlic too much, remove some garlic cloves. Use a spoon to scoop out and take out any browned bits on the sides of the pot.
Use a potato masher or ricer to mash the potatoes right in the pot if your slow cooker is a strong one. (Though it is recommended to remove the pot for a few seconds while mashing and put it back to the slow cooker right after)
When the potatoes are as smooth as you like, slowly stir in the warmed dairy and butter. The potatoes may be too liquid at first but they will quickly get firm. You may add 1/2 cup of milk or cream if you want a more creamy texture.
Adjust seasoning with salt or pepper if you feel it’s needed. I personally add a tiny little bit of nutmeg powder, like the French do. Really adding a special flavour that everyone loves in my family.
Well, it’s ready 🙂
