Ingredients
2 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and washed
8 oz bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken broth
¼ cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, cook the bacon pieces over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened and slightly golden, about 3-4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
Transfer the cooked onion and garlic to your slow cooker. Add the green beans, bacon, chicken broth, water, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or on HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the green beans are tender but still crisp.
